Tourism Industry - Horizonte
Nature tourism has become a thriving and competitive business
in Costa Rica. For example, tourist agencies fight over who has
legal right to certain words in advertising. One agency even threatened
law suits if any one was caught using the word - ecotourism. They
claimed they invented the word and had exclusive rights to its
use.
Despite this - there is a growing recognition that the industry
and its economic future is dependent on preserving the environment.
