Education about farming in the city also involves the mass media in Cuba. There are only two television channels and both are controlled by the State.

Among the most popular programs are baseball games and movies from the United States and other countries.

But growing food has become so important that even on prime time talk shows you can watch demonstrations on how to grow and preserve things like organic mustard. Education about farming is also found in newspapers and books, and on radio.
